The 8-point checklist to improve your AI visibility
Eight concrete actions, ranked by effort, to get ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity recommending you. Do them this month.
Improving your visibility on AI assistants isn't magic. It's a sum of consistent details. Here are eight concrete actions, from the quickest to the most involved. Do them in order — the early ones set up the later ones.
Quick (under an hour)
- 1. Check that your name, address and phone (NAP) are consistent across your site, Google Business Profile and your socials. The smallest variation (“Street” vs “St”) muddies the signal.
- 2. Fill in your category and description in Google Business Profile with words your customers actually use, not internal jargon.
- 3. Add one clear sentence at the top of your homepage: who you are, what you do, where. The AIs read this to place you.
Medium (half a day)
- 4. List yourself in the 3–5 reference directories for your sector and city. These are sources the assistants consult.
- 5. Ask for a few recent, detailed reviews. A review that describes a specific service is worth more, to an AI, than ten “great!”s.
- 6. Write a page or article answering a real customer question (“how to choose an X in London?”). That's citable content.
Involved (a project in its own right)
- 7. Seek a mention in a recognised local source (press, neighbourhood blog, partner). These citations carry real weight in how much AIs trust you.
- 8. Set up monthly monitoring: AI answers change, and a competitor can overtake you without warning. What isn't measured decays quietly.
None of these actions is spectacular. Their sum, over a quarter, is.
Your starting point decides everything
Before ticking these boxes, measure your starting point. Without a baseline audit you won't know which actions actually moved the needle. Waseit gives you that zero point in 60 seconds — your AI-visibility score, the questions where you're cited or absent, and the competitors showing up in your place.
Run the free audit, keep this checklist handy, and re-measure in a month. The loop is what makes the difference.
